Activity details

“A cultural and panoramic hike”.

Walk in the footsteps of ancestral Moorea, between sacred places and open vistas.

The Course :

This hike follows Moorea’s marae trail, an itinerary charged with meaning that passes through several Polynesian cultural sites integrated into a preserved natural environment. These marae, ancient sites of social and spiritual life, provide a better understanding of the island’s traditional organization and its deep connection with the land.

Walking is at a fluid pace, conducive to observation and exchange. The trail alternates between vegetated areas and more open passages, offering a gradual immersion in Polynesian history and culture.

The route then leads to an inland belvedere, the highlight of the hike. From this unobstructed vantage point, you can see Moorea’s relief, valleys and the natural lines that structure the island. It’s an ideal moment to take a step back, pause and connect what you’ve discovered on the trail to the geography of the territory.
